Once followed an Idiot across various maps in WoW for using the word gay against everyone who didn't give him free weapons and armour. Was a long day, had got back from a slow day in Desolace, and had gotten back to Crossroads when I get the usual begging.
I say no, he says "U R GAY!", I agreed.... and made suggestive comments towards him for the next few minutes in public chat. Course, he didn't like this, and moved away. And followed him, carrying on with the whole gay talk, and freaking the little arsehole out. It went across the sea's, it went through various PvP zones... it went through a few zones. Eventually he went and killed himself, respawned in the graveyard, and teleported out. So I went back to the Crossroads to wait for a few guild mates to log on.
Lo and behold, he was right back where he started, having the piss taken out of him, and all he could do is say 'stop it'. I sat back and didn't get involved anymore, he was getting the ridicule he deserved. Strangely, it never got reported, either that of Blizzard never got involved (player policing themselves). He did however stop using 'Gay' as an insult, which can only be a good thing I the long run.
I do not like handing out lessons in humiliation, and don't do it unless I'm being irritated (or I'm bored). However, some times you need to do stuff like this if people are to learn and shift their attitude's.

There's nothing wrong with being gay, and I despise seeing it used as an insult.
